Life in 368

An update from Vail...
This week should be an interesting one at number 3, our tiny 368 square foot love nest, as Matt begins the remodel of the mancave. Commencing today Matt will be breaking up the current concrete floor of the mancave to soon be replaced with nice new tile flooring. This means that for one week there will be no shower and no toilet. This also means that I will become very acquainted with the public restrooms of such establishments as the City Market, Conoco, and Safeway, oh joy! I am, however uncomfortable it may make this week, overjoyed to see the current floor go! There is no good way to clean a poured concrete floor as I have tried hundreds of methods over the past two years!!! I was finally resigned to accept the fact that those hard water stains will never truly disappear and the floor, no matter how many times scrubbed, will always look dingy. Well dingy floor NO MORE! I will continue to keep you all posted on the progress of the floor and hopefully Matt, or my contractor HDB (Hansen Design Build), will stick to his schedule of one week. Photos to follow!

  1. You can get a punch card at the rec center and use the showers there! I know someone who did that for a while.

  2. We too experienced the "no potty" bathroom. I was determined to rip out, tile the floor and reset the toilet in one day! Necessity is a great motivator and it is probably the ONLY job I ever completed on time! :) Fortunately the boys thought it was amuzing to "water the garden" and the public library potties and other places were just around the corner!
